THE INITIATIVE
Two thirds of children in South Africa grow up without a father as a good leader in their life. The role of a good father is to establish identity, love and correct a child. Without this guidance, effects of this are seen in the crime statistics and issues plaguing our nation. The initiative targets to tackle these issues head on.
We want young men to lead unashamedly, do what is right, hold each other accountable, and change the narrative.
The way in which our movement will operate will be by the start-up and facilitation of "Lighthouses". Lighthouses are what we call the small contact mentorship groups that service a specific organisation or school. These are facilitated by Mentors who are trained to work through a specific curriculum with the young men in weekly sessions. Lighthouses aim to address core foundations, values and create accountability amongst the young men.
Adventure is used as a tool to break cultural and racial barriers, and bring forward what lies in the heart of every man. The following structure will be used to break these barriers, address core foundations to be able to lead well, and to build accountability networks amongst young men:
Weekly meetings will be led held by mentors at the affiliated school via a set curriculum.
Quarterly (provincial) adventure weekends will be held for boys and mentors belonging to an established Lighthouse in that relevant province.
Yearly (national) adventure camps will be held for boys and mentors belonging to an established Lighthouse

Each Lighthouse needs funding for resources, administration and screening processes to be put in place.
SPREAD AWARENESS
Men are wired for adventure. It nourishes us, calls us out, makes us come alive. Through adventure we aim to create awareness to call on schools/organisations and mentors to get involved in our initiative, but a vital aspect is to appeal to the adventurous heart of every young man who will be a part of our movement. Good role models are hard to come by, but by appealing to a young man's heart for adventure, we hope to inspire him to dream, to hope and to run towards something bigger than a current circumstance. Adventure has the ability to not only overcome a mental obstacle in one's self, but also break down cultural and racial differences in finding common ground in a common adventure.
To spread awareness we will embark on various adventures over the life of the organisation. We hope to inspire to dream and to do.
